Cheeky thieves steal the Delray woman’s Porsche from the garage

DELRAY BEACH, Florida. -A woman from Delray Beach said she believes daring thieves targeted her after she left a grocery store and followed her home when her car was stolen this week.

Nancy Jetta said the blatant theft occurred while unloading her bags.

The incident was caught on security camera on Monday afternoon.

The video shows the car thieves driving a white BMW, then two of them enter her garage while she is inside the house.

Within seconds, the robbers were gone in his white Porsche.

Nancy Jetta says she thinks the thieves targeted her for shopping at a Publix grocery store.

“It’s a good scam. You’re bringing groceries and going out and the car is gone,” Jetta said.

He admits he was wrong to leave the garage door open and the keys in the car.

It was an opportunity, which the police admit, was too good for the thieves to pass up.

Jetta believes the thieves saw her leave a Publix grocery store and then waited outside her home for an opportunity to strike.

Delray Beach Police Sergeant Casey Kelly

Delray Beach Police Sergeant Casey Kelly shares her thoughts on the brazen theft.

“We will not rule out anything. I know the victim believes he was targeted by the grocery store and we will not discredit him,” said Delray Beach Police Sergeant Casey Kelly. “We can’t say this is or isn’t the case, but we do know that there is a criminal trend of vehicles left unlocked.”

Jetta said she has heard of others being similarly targeted.

“In one neighborhood it happened to two people who were also unloading their groceries, and when they got back out the car was gone,” Jetta said.

Her car was later found intact in Miami and returned to her.

“I’ll just be a lot more attentive to my surroundings,” Jetta said.
